TESTIMONIALS.
“I recovered quite well, so I assume they’ve helped! It was my first birth so I don’t really have much to compare it to, but I must say your service is impeccable!" - Lisa
“Thank you so much for making my placenta pills I thought they were great. I stopped bleeding and felt 100% - about 16 days. I was surprised, I thought I was going to continue to bleed for 6 weeks. And didn’t have any issues with milk supply as well!!” - Jenny
FAQs.
THE PLACENTA.
Isn’t the placenta a filter for toxins & waste? Why would I consume it?
The placenta transports and excretes carbon dioxide, urea and other waste products from the foetus to the mother’s blood stream and disposes it by the mothers lungs and kidneys. The foetal and maternal blood streams never mix. A study conducted in 2016, analysing the contents of Placentas, found that there were no toxic levels of any elements that could be harmful and no toxic ingredients in the placenta capsules they studied.
Can I still consume my placenta if I have complications?
Depending on your pregnancy/ child Birth complication, I will make recommendations according to my training with IPEN.
For example, If you have tested positive for Group B Streptococcus (GBS) during pregnancy, your placenta can still be encapsulated via the TCM and a tincture can be made from the capsules.
Unfortunately if you have tested positive for HIV, Hepatitis B or C or are COVID positive, it is highly not recommended to ingest your placenta.
When shouldn’t I consume the capsules?
According to TCM principles, capsules should not be consumed when the mother has a cold, mastitis or any infections characterised by symptoms of a fever, aches, chills as it is believed that the placenta energises the body and during times of illness if consumed, add its energy to the illness, thus worsening the condition of the woman.
Instead, placenta essences can be used in replacement of TCM capsules in times of illness instead.
I’m vegetarian/ vegan. Can I still consume the capsules?
Yes you still can. Technically, although it is considered ‘meat’, your Placenta has come from your body. It is not been farmed or has died. Your placenta capsules contain 100% Placenta only. The capsules are vegetarian and 100% natural, containing no preservatives, gelatin, wheat, animal by-products or starch. They are GMO free and Kosher and Halal certified.
It is not cannabalism to consume your placenta as cannabalism is the practice of eating the flesh or organs of other deceased humans and your Placenta is your own.
Can I still get my placenta encapsulated and bank the cord blood?
Yes. Once the cord blood has been taken from the umbilical cord (immediately after birthing the placenta), the placenta can be stored as normal for placenta encapsulation/ the preparation of other remedies. If it’s something you’re interested in, we can definitely discuss it further.
When should I book?
Booking can be made at any stage during pregnancy however preferably before you are 34 weeks. If you require services close to your due date, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly to see if something can be arranged.
